I'm in the process of rounding up parts to repair my 21 Outrage that was severly damaged last fall: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/020027.html I have located a bow rail plus fittings in Tampa from another forum member, but shipping is a real challenge. The size of the railings - about 7' x 4' is too big for UPS so it needs to go common carrier and I'm concerned about damage. Any chance that anybody might be making the drive up north this spring in a vehicle that this would fit? The railing is in Tampa and I am near Albany, NY. BTW, the raing comes apart in pieces so it does lay pretty flat. |

Tom, First I would get in contact with Andrew Hoekstra (whalehunt) as he makes repeated trips from Florida to New England and could likely help out. I know he has posted before about his trips and offered to transport boats and other items. Next, have you tried shipping GreyHound? As in the bus line? I have shipped multiple set of canvas with them and other than having to got to the bus depot to pick you items up it is cheap and efficient. Be sure to pay for priority shipping or else it could get stuck in a depot waiting for an opening if you ship standard shipping. There is also Roadway that will ship from Depot to Depot cheap. I know a couple people who have used them to ship motors. Finally, have you tried putting an ad on http://www.uship.com/ ? |

This guy is highly regarded over on the forum that deals with fast outboard powered boats:
