Does anybody have any experience with this engine? How reliable? I found one used with low hours. Model #E175FPXS00

As with anything used, first have a trained tech check the motor over completely and give you the engine report.

Depends on price. Should be a good motor since they debugged them over the years. It should also be a good motor since it is still running after 6 years. Here is a nice one in FL.. http://sarasota.craigslist.org/boa/2310057445.html

If you do acquire one of these, make sure that you have the fuel pressure test port replaced if it looks like the one in the picture of the Craiglist advertisement (picture looking at back of the powerhead). The fuel pressure test port in that picture has a gray colored cap on it. If you take the cap off, it looks like a Schraeder tire pressure valve. In the presence of E10, the joint between the brass valve and the plastic tee often fail. Replacement is not a big fix.

The engine I am looking at has 96 hrs on it. I has always been used on a trailed boat. It looks virtual brand new. the price $3500.
