Looking to order a set of registration numbers for my 170 Montauk. Does any one know the type of font used that matches the Whaler logo? Or a suggestion of a good outfit to order them from.

Magic Brush will make you a set in central FL.

The Boston Whaler logo font looks like Futura bold or extra bold oblique to me.

Janis at Magic Brush did my reg numbers, boat name, etc all in the same font as Whaler as well as in Whaler Red. And did a very nice job I might add

Best is to work with Janice at Magic Brush, she is awesome and OEM for Whaler. We have got to know her and she is great to work with. I assure you, the font is not Futura and you won't find it in any pro collection of fonts and type face designs.

Support our DEDICATED suppliers - every one of them I have met or done business with will go the extra mile for any one of us.

Does Janis also do outboard motor decals?

I did my registration numbers in Bold Helvetica Italic. I found it through a search on this website.

You may, of course do as you please, but I've seen a "Marine Deputy" standing on a ramp telling people that "if you put that boat in the water with those numbers, you've got a ticket".... http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=ecfr& sid=608bb5f2ff1c5c411a9065ef99e45d27&rgn=div8&view=text&node=33:2.0.1.8. 39.2.209.9&idno=33

And having very visible numbers in a color that contrasts your hull with a tad of a slant is illegal how? I don't think he was telling people about the numbers we are talking about. Here is a pic of mine from Janis.

As long as the registration numbers are in a contrasting color and are at least 3" high, they are allowed.

Italicized numbers like Nick's are NOT legal...but who cares?
