Splashed. Finally! My 1994 Montauk has a 75 exec [E-TEC?] that started up flawlessly. After touching up some bottom paint, we dropped the boat in and put her through the paces. I can't tell you how great a feeling it is to have a boat that is so turn-key and easy to own. My friend across the lagoon had has Robalo with new Yamaha F350 and was very jealous, as his boat which was "winterized" by a local marina was dropped off to him with a head that they never pumped out (gag), and to make it worse, the Yamaha F350 stalled out whenever the boat got up on plane. They were trying to figure it out as I waved and asked if he wanted a ride on my boat!

And you were laughing at the folks who 'tauked about the rapture yesterday, Sal, even while you were experiencing it yourself. We're getting blown out here in Northern California, with day after day of over-20-knot winds and large, short interval swells. But our day will come again, sooner than later, I devoutedly pray; and then, with a blessed king salmon on the end of my line...heaven. Tight lines to you, 'Tauking Heads, and to her executive-style 75 hp motor. Tuco, fisher of fish. |

The weather here in Southeast Michigan is perfectly suited for boating today. I feel bad that I am going to watch ice hockey on television, instead. |

Sal,I know the feeling. I just pulled the Newport out of storage this morning and will be on the water once the kids wake up from their naps. The boat is cleaned and prepped and ready to run in under 3 hours. My 22 Outrage would have taken at least 3 times as long. The best part about it is was hooking the hose up, priming the bulb and having that 1974 Evinrude Starflite 85hp start up on the first turn of the key after 3 rotations. Simple proven technology wins every time. |

We had nice day to be out on the water too, 5-8knots wind and only 1m swell, made the most of it and went diving. |

Saturday was a perfect day for boating in Tampa Bay. But our hockey team had a one o'clock start. Since Im recently retired I thought that I would watch part of the hockey game and after that I would walk out 40 foot to the dock and lower the Newport into the water and hit some of the river joints. Tampa went to 0-3 in a hurry and I started the boat idea after the third goal. Having the outside TV on while lowering the boat the hockey game became 3-3. Next thing I know is the local team had scored 5 unanswered goals. That made the bar hopping that much more fun. This is coming from a Florida lifer that has never seen a pair of ice skates. I have gone to around ten live hockey games, including one row behind the Devils bench. HD tv has done alot for watching hockey. Also got around six hours of great Whalering in after the game. Great day all around:). |
