After some bad weather days, today was perfect. Donna and I launched at St. Joe and ran 25 miles to New Buffalo for lunch and back. Although the lake temp is still in the 50's, the air temp was very pleasent about a mile off shore while it was 90 degrees on land. Light air and less than 1/2 ft waves. T-shirts and shorts for the whole trip.

A good omen for the summer, I hope!

Terry - Lake Erie was pretty nice today, also. There was a light wind from the southwest, and waves less than a foot. After getting out past the mud-stained water and debris from last night's storm run-off, the lake was beautiful.

Lake Michigan was like a dance floor and glassy on Sunday the 29th. The only problem was the fog. You could only make out markers and other boats that were at best only 50' from you. It was eerie because you could hear other traffic but, you could not see them. So, I spend a good part of the day fishing for pan fish with my son and Father in-law on White Lake along the Southern Whitehall shore. It really was a nice area for boating.

The water on White Lake was in the low low 60's while Lake Michigan temps were a steady 50 degrees and I occasionally saw a 46 - 47 surface temp marking on my short stint on the lake.
