Have one too many 17 foot Whalers, so am going to sell one and likely buy an Outrage to complement the 17 that I am going to keep.

Boat is a very early Montauk (according to some folks here it's the oldest Montauk known on the site). Good clean shape, never bottom painted, mostly fresh water, very original. Has the rare forward casting platform installed. I am a real enthusiast of these platforms, and have one on my other boat as well. Engine is a Yamaha 90 classic 2 stroke, dunno year but likely about an 85 or so. Engine was just tuned, lower unit overhauled, and new water pump impeller installed, etc., by S&S in Atlantic Highlands NJ. Trailer is a galvanized Shorelander in good shape. I towed it from Wisconson to NJ (In a snowstorm in February, mind you) without any issues. Has a red Ritchie compass that needs fluid. VHF radio is in the console, needs an antenna. Has a quality wooden platform on the starboard bow for a trolling motor, and it has a pair of trolling motors included (not installed). Has a removable Stainless Steel tow-pylon for skiing or tubing, etc. Not my cup of tea, but it snaps out and all that remains is a very small SS plate on the deck and a pair of very small SS plates on the inside of the transom on each side. Has the original teak rear bench seat as well. All in all it was a highly optioned boat, and is a real classic. I bought it sight unseen just to get another 17 with a forward platform, but it looks like I might be better off with one 17 and one 22 or 25 Outrage so... too many boats..... sell one, buy one.

Not a lot else to say. I figured I would offer it here to CW Friends before putting it on the side of the road with a "For Sale" sign taped to the hull. I'll be gone diving for the next week, but can correspond by email and can shoot recent pics when I return. Boat is in Union Beach NJ, and can be brought to Narragansett RI almost any week. Price... well, we can negotiate. I'm not going to give it away, but I'm not going to be silly either.

Email and let's talk, some Whaler trades (classic Outrage Trades)considered.

And I'm a dumb-diver... posting to the wrong area.

Jim, can you delete the above and I'll move it to the for sale area?

Sheesh....
