Sorry to say that our good friend Dorothy Zammit of Lockeman's Hardware passed away this morning. Dorothy (with her husband David) was not only owner of Lockeman's, she was a hard working, friendly, and passionate in the way she turned customers into friends.

Dorothy fought a couraagous fight against cancer over the last year; may she rest in peace. Please keep Dave, Doug, and the rest of Dorothy's family and friends in your prayers. RIP

While I never met her, Lockeman's had a stellar reputation, no small part, I suspect, due to Dorothy. Many of us here knew she was ill some time ago. RIP Dorothy, your struggles in this place, are done.

That is so sad to hear. She had a long and hard fought fight.

While Dave, Doug and Ben make the shop so great with their mechanical knowledge, she gave the shop it's soul. Her voice always carried through it's century old shop.."DAAVVVEEEE! LINE ONE!" Her heartfelt and witty conversations always made you feel like you were at home. Going into the shop will never be the same.

I am so saddened to read this just now. I was away for about ten days and did not learn of this until just this moment. I cannot express my thoughts in words. Dorothy was a friend and will be missed.

I tried and tried to locate information regarding services for Dorothy to no avail. I learned later that there was a private family service. God Bless Dorothy's soul, she was a friend and will surely be missed.

Just saw this, haven't checked the site in a while.
I want to give my condolences to every one at Lockmans, I got to know them, as you all have, and Jeff said it best, it will never be the same.

Very sad for all - I saw her last August when Mirassou and I visited the store and she was working hard and as upbeat as ever. Our heartfelt condolences to Dave and family.

I stopped in the shop yesterday at lunch to express my condolences in person. I had a nice chat with Dave, talked about some motor problems and got the needed parts....

I have to admit though, it was really strange walking in and not having Dorthy greet me as I came through the door....that was when reality set in.

Bless her soul, very sad. Obviously I never met her (being in Australia) but I have first hand experience of the suffering cancer can bring, with the premature loss of my pop with brain cancer and his sister with liver cancer.

These things are terrible, the suffering is not only with the person affected, but with their loved ones.

I hope she is in a better place.
