My boy and I went for a ride on our Super Sport 15 this afternoon. With a GoPro camera mounted front and center, [I] took a series of photos that I plan to make into a time lapse.

Good photos, good times.

Speaking of kids and Whalers, here's one of my son pulling my daughter on a tube on Pend Oreille Lake a few years back:

And here's another of my daughter getting back at him later that day...

Note that these pictures were taken before we'd initiated our mandatory PFD policy.

Cool shots. Those GoPro's are very nice cameras.

Been playing with [a GoPro camera] myself, still trying to figure out how to make it, iMovie, and youtube play nice together. [Link to a private video that could not be seen has been deleted. Please check the settings for your host.--jimh] By the way I don't think there are any fish in that bay.

Thanks guys for the compliments.

Toby - I have many memories tubing behind my uncle's 1986 18' Outrage growing up. Great stuff!

I like the way the time lapse video came out. Very cool.

Jamber-
I really love the way you set up your GoPro. Want to do the same thing with my GoPro. How did you mount the GoPro so high up? I'm guessing you somehow mounted a long pole to the hull of the boat and then maybe used the handlebar/seatpost mount to connect the GoPro to the mount? Thanks. Would be a great set up for tubing...
Oh and by the way, where were you boating? Looks like somewhere in Florida. Trying to figure it out by looking at the bridges and the buildings in the background.

I guess I should have taken a photo of my set up.

But I will try to explain...
I attached the GoPro to a Manfrotto monopod (same monopod pictured here):
http://www.manfrotto.us/ 3-section-aluminum-monopod-black-holds-22lbs-10kg
Then I used a WestMarine classic rod holder (as pictured here) to the center of my bow rail.:
http://tinyurl.com/6szcgoz

I attached a thin stainless steel leader line (cable) with looped ends to the mount on the GoPro then to the bow rail of the Whaler. I extended the monopod to make the leader tight to help hold it down and as a safety incase the monopod came out of the rod holder.

I also shoved a small towel into the rod holder to keep the monopod from moving (I think I need another towel as it still moved slightly over larger waves).

I think it ended up about about 3 feet above the bow rail (the monopod was not fully extended). Next time I plan to tilt the rod holder forward slightly and the GoPro down a bit to try and get more of the Whaler (bow) in the shot. The time-lapse ended up being cropped compared to the still photos.

Cheaper than monopod - a ProGoStick will work.

Or you could use a long painter's stick (from a home improvement store) with the GoPro handle bar mount like you mentioned.

This was shot in Southwest Florida.
