I just saw a commercial on Fox for Sea Do jet skis, I can't remember ever seeing a TV commercial for a boat. I may have seen comercials for Johnson or Evinrude motors. Dont know if this is a good sign or a bad sign meaning poor sales = more advertising effort. Yesterday I was landbound at the West River in Md Chesapeake Bay, I saw one powerboat underway so gas prices are definatly being felt, it was the same in 08.

Gas prices must not be too bad, Saturday is the opening of walleye season on the Saginaw river and it will be packed with boats from bank to bank.

Casual cruising will be down slightly, but fishing boats will be as busy as ever here on one of the best walleye fisheries in the the world.

I wondered the same about BRP, as they just announced a new 6 year warranty plan on new E-tecs, and indicated they are doing a nationwide sales campaign on Sea Doo products. Sales must be slow with high priced gasoline. Usually the engine manufacturers do their warranty promotions Jan-April during the boat show season, and never into summer. Mercury's 5 year plan was extended to May 31.

Every year during the spring, I see advertisements for all sorts of water and land based recreational vehicles from a variety of brands.

As television becomes more technologically sophisticated, what you see for advertisements will not necessarily be what your neighbor sees. Just like the Internet, "they" are watching you.

Good!!! Most of my internet ads that are shown to me are about woodworking, hunting, and boats. When you visit the Boston Whaler website and *abra cadabra* pretty soon most of your google ads will be Boston Whaler. I would welcome that approach to tv if it means I don't have to see another American Idol or Real Housewives of whatever anymore!

You better hope that the American Idol and House Wives of _________ advertisers do not think that those with interest in woodworking, hunting and boats would also be interested in American Idol and House Wives of __________. ;)

Wow, you guys must not watch fishing shows. I don't have cable or dish and I've seen Mercury, Evinrude, Triton, Robalo and Ranger commercials to name a few.

Might be a regional thing. We get boat, PWC, fishing, etc. commercials all year long.
