Put a deposit on a 1989 B/W 15' today, and now I am trying to figure out which model I'm buying? :-) I understand that in the boats 23 years it may have been modified.

Here goes. SS Side rails, no bow rail, and a fiberglass side console with a small windshield. Mahogany rear bench seat, no back rest, with what appears to be recently added folding pedestal seats. Pedestal seat fitting in the center of the forward storage compartment.

I have photos to send if that would assist in the model identification. The boat is powered by a Mariner 60 2stroke, from 1997, Gel coat is in really, nice condition, inside and out.

Insight appreciated.

Sounds like a Striper 15 with the addition of a thwart seat at some point.

The Striper is my favorite of all the 15 foot models, though when I ordered mine from the factory in 1978 I had the pedestal seats mounted side by side for driver and passenger.

Thanks Tom, that was my initial thought, but the front casting seat fitting kind of threw me. It is not mounted on the vertical bulkhead as in the pg. 50 photos, but is an insert in the center of the wooden storage lid.

The 15 footer that I am in the middle of customizing and modifying is a Striper. Anyone in the need of the side console, it is $35 if you pick it up (Central Florida)It is restorable but needs new plywood backing. Includes windshield, somewhat crazed but no cracks and the helm with wheel. I also have the aluminum clamp that holds the forward pedestal seat, good condition, $45 to your door.(could be used on any 15 footer.)

It certainly is a Striper console. The bow locker mounted pedstal is not original nor is the thwart seat. Is there screw hole evidence of pedestals being mounted on the floor? Or cooler cleats?

I'd love to have a Striper Console shell just in case I came across an old 15' hull I could recreate a Striper out of.

Tom,
Here is some pics of the 15' Striper I bought in January. If you can use the console, you can have it for the cost of shipping from Tampa area, or if you plan to come to Fl. at any point in time I'll save it for you. The only things I removed are the compass and tach. I like the Striper layout, but I wanted a center console 15 footer. It's been a lot of work, but the rigging tunnel is done.
