When I lived in Florida I owned a 1987 15 Sport. Trying to see if it still exists. IIRC, FL3516FT was the FL registration number. It had at the time, a Pate 18 gallon tank, 1987 70 Merc, FL numbers in Whaler script, red bimini attached to the "flat" part of the gunwhales, small bilge pump in the well. I shortened the electric cable from the remote control to the motor so there would not be a coil of stuff to snag on.
Had a lot of good times with my wife and kids. I built a trailer custom fit to the boat. Trailer was made almost completely with stainless steel, had 15" wheels, dropped crossmembers. I could "launch" the boat on my front lawn and retrieve if needed for trailer maintenance.

Only time it let me down, was at the ramp. Had first day off from work in 60 straight, son wanted to go skiing. No start. Had to replace the electronic box under the flywheel. Ran fine for another three years until I sold it in 2000.

Now I am older and larger and thinking about another Whaler, probably a Montauk.

Anybody on CW know this boat?
