I just bought a used Mills suntop for my 1988 18ft. Outrage from irishcreamer. The only parts needed for installation are the stainless steel eyes to snap the straps to. Could anyone provide a pic of the eye so I can get close to the original look. The boat had a suntop originally and it was removed and the holes for the eyes were filled in but not a perfect job so I can locate the placement of the front eyes that screw next to the bow rail. I have no idea where the rear eyes were placed. Irishcreamer could get me pics after wednesday when he gets back to his boat and of course I am anxious. We shipped this thing from California to Ohio against the advise of some but it worked out. Irishcreamer did a heck of a job packing it for shipment and was great to work with. The Mills top is truely a well built top shelf product. Thanks, Drew

There are no hard answers. Check a lot of picts until you are sure where you want to start. The location of the bimini mount fore and aft and the adjustments in the straps will give you some latitude. Also, you will want to consider where you want it to lay down. Good Luck. |

Thanks for the responses and I think I can be close since I have adjustment on the straps. I want the bimini as far up in the bow area when stored away to not be in the way of riders in the bow area. That is why I wanted the Mills top because they have already engineered it to fit nice. Drew

Wannabe- I plan on going down to my slip this weekend. Send me an email reminder and I will send you photos. My recollection is that any decent marine store with hardware will have these, they are not that unique. |

Also, Wannabe- if you go to the Mills site, and select Whaler canvas and then select your boat, it will pull up all canvas associated with that boat, It will not give you prices (you have to call or email Suzanne) but for many pieces, primitive diagrams and instructions are online, to assist in your install.BTW, Irishcreamer is a great person to do business with. I hope to meet him in person, someday. |

Suzanne told me last week that all instructions are supposed to be on their website. I have not checked but if that's what's up that is way cool. |

Typically with Mills Canvas installations a pad eye is used as the retainer for snap fittings on straps. The height of the pad eye should be checked for sufficient clearance for the snap fastener. |
