Good times aboard the ol 21' Conquest on Sept 17. Monday was truly an amazing day out on the Gumdrop, 40 miles West of Half Moon Bay, CA. Our first hookup happened a minute after we got the lines out and it was a steady pick from that point on till the boxes were stuffed with 13 albacore from 15-33lbs. Eight fish were over 25lbs and four of those over 30lbs! We lost four fish as well, two 35 lbers were at the side of the boat b/c they tangled, one broke off the meat lines and the fourth was b/c I forget to set the clicker and got spooled on the rocket launcher and we didn't notice till it was too late! I even donated a G Loomis rod to the Gumdrop as a token of my appreciation for giving me the best day of fishing of my life, lol!!! Done by 1:00pm, left em biting after a triple. Boxes were plugged. Zucchini was the hot lure of the day. The ocean was FAC all day. Go get em Nor Cal boys!

With all the wind we've been having, you guys really scored with calm conditions. Great trip.

Nice catch; nice video! My first experience with true albacore was also my first trip to the Hudson Canyon....90 miles off the New Jersey coast. Very first fish was a 67 pounder!!! Taken on a spreader. Later trips on my boat yielded fish in the low thirties; never saw one nearly the size of that first one. But then there were those bigeyes that time...
