I like it with the dark blue hull and the upgraded rails. And of course, the beautiful console. I think I see the infamous "Hells Bells" in one of the pics. I will be calling soon as I need some wood parts for my 18 Outrage.

Great looking Whaler. I like the updates you did. Wonderful work. I saw Whaler with similar colors hull on the St Lawrence River last summer. I will try to get that pic up on this thread.

Beautiful restoration. Looks like a Sakonnet without the forward deck rather then an Eastport.

Nice looking boat, great work. Although I trend towards keeping these boats stock, I think customization like this is great, especially when the work is done with such nice craftsmanship. Keeping this boat on the water and looking great is worth the effort expended.

..Thanks guys.
This was a great project for Nautical Lumber to show our capabilities. The pics dont really do it justice.
During the project i developed some new ideas & tools to make futire restorations easier. (for me & others) I hope to have them developed to share with others during 2013.

I'll post a few more projects soon.

Thanks for your interest & comments.

Mike - Is that Flag Blue gelcoat, or paint?

Did you replace the non-skid with a pattern, or did you use some kind of abrasive additive such as crushed coral or silica sand in the final coat on the deck?

Looks great, except for that giant motor that seems like a giant sea creature intent on consuming whomever might sit on that beautiful teak RPS.

:)

Cheers - congrats on a pretty boat!

Great looking restoration. I love the colors. Is the interior color Awlgrip Seafoam?

Both the interior & exterior were painted (per customer request) in AwlGrip.
Exterior: Flagship Blue, red boot stripe, Oyster white Bottom.
Interior: Awlgrip has a formula for Boston whaler blue.
Stainless is all custom.
Nautical Lumber did all the work except Stainless & Mechanical.
yea..that motor's a hog isn't it??

Mike, thanks for the info on the Whaler Blue Awlgrip. I e-mailed Awlgrip and the replied with the code for that custom color. I will put the code on a new thread so that others wanting to use Whaler Blue can save it and alot of searching time.

Mike,

The restoration turned out great. I am surprised the owner did not have the trailer painted flag blue to match. Also who did the stainless work? Those one piece railing are REALLY NICE!!

On a side note...the hull has a past CW history. It used to belong to Ben VanHudsen (Ben) here on CW.

BTW, while I do like the 16' project.....I am most interested in seeing those 21s done. : P

Jeff, Is that the same guy(Ben) that had the 21 smoothside for sale a couple of years ago in Brighton? You need to convince Mike to sell you one of his unrestored 21 outrages. lol
