Hi guys,
After 2 seasons of owning our Ventura, we realise that we are incredibly good at losing flags. Last year we purchased the Rod Holder type holder (http://shop.coolwaterproducts.com/Rod-Holder-Flag-Poles-fits-in-a-rod-holder_c22.htm) however had difficult time securing the rod in the holder and subsequently lost the rod after it fell in the water and sank.
We know that there are drill type rod holder with mounts, but are seeing if we can use something that does not require drilling. We were thinking of getting the rail mount Rod Holder (http://shop.coolwaterproducts.com/Rail-Mount-Flag-Poles_c23.htm) however not sure if the item can be pivoted at an angle as on the back of the boat we do not have many perpendicular rails (unlike the front of the boat).
Does anyone have any good ideas for secure flat holders?

A length of bungee on the flag pole so it pulls it down into the rod holder. Place a hook to loop the bungee onto if need be. No more lost flags since.
