I have seen some discussion on this site about the T-Topless T Top and Shadow kit version. Everything looks good from what I can see. But it would be nice to hear from someone who may have purchased already. I do see a price changes over the last couple of years. Also the stabilizer bar was included and now it does not appear to be in the package. The shipping charges are just outrageous the frequently asked question talks about the charges to justify them. They can run from 165 for the kit to 200 for the already put together top. Here's the link if someone wants to view.

At 899 for the shadow plus shipping 165 rod holders and two stabilizer bars you are well over a grand. Like I said I like the product but it is hard to justify the cost.At one time the shadow unit was 699...

Thanks for any input.

I bought my Montauk Shadow last summer after a long day on the water with no shade. Smartest investment Ive made so far. You are correct that the price has gone up but so has the price on everything else under the sun in the past few years. I purchase the top with the stabilizer bar and the storage pouch. I also ordered it with the bars that attach to the forward handrails. I didn't like them so I talked with the guys at T Topless and returned them for the bars that attach to the RPS bar. That greatly increased the structural integrity. I still wound up having to tie some line in an "x" to make it so that there was no sway but, to each his own. I did many months of research on this and I think that it was the best option because I didn't have to mount anything to the deck.

dcarson87354 Thanks for your reply.. The bars you did not like were the ones that are in front of the console and rod holders? Can you tell me what you did not like about them. I am assuming visibility...Issues . I agree with you after some research this is the best option on the market and it looks great to. Thanks again

The initial support bars I got were attached at the hand rails then up to the t top. They hindered movement when going forward from the helm. The second set of bars I ordered attach at the base of the RPS then to the top. They have a triple bend and greatly enhance the ease of movement around the boat when compared with the original ones. I have pictures for clarification but don't know how to post them here. Feel free to email me dcarson87354@yahoo.com. Ill send you the pictures of my setup. Also, T Topless is awesome to deal with. The guy will take the time to answer any questions you have.
