I am in the painstaking process of putting all of the wood trim pieces back on the Revenge 25 Whaler Drive that I purchased. The previous owner was smart enough to save every single screw, but unfortunately placed all 863 of them in a jar with no labels. I am trying to determine what might have been over the large hole that leads to the inner portion of the closed transom. It is under the long rounded on top piece that stretches from side to side and above the half wall that goes from the floor into the splash well. Sort of a trapezoid shape.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks

What you need is Whaler's exploded parts diagram for that model. I might have that but I'll need to do some digging through my files.

OK. I did not know such a thing existed. That would be very helpful. Much much appreciated

See the last photo in this article for a completely original configuration, 1989 model.

From your description it sounds like an owner modification, not original.

I like the pic, but mine is different and I am 100% it was not modified. Thole I believe is there for inboard models that have a large engine hatch/box in front of it for access to the engine compartment. I have some pics of it if I could email you direct?
Thanks

I've looked and I do not have the factory exploded parts diagram for a full transom 25 foot model. The 18 is the only full transom model I have that diagram for.

OK. Thanks. If anyone is willing, I am happy to email a pic of the area that I am struggling with. It appears to have been caulked in at one time, but I cannot locate any screw holes? I know that makes no sense whatsoever, sorry.

I have a 1989 25 Whaler Drive,The area I believe you are referring to is normally factory foam filled,Mine has a semi flexible veneer type cover on it.Its screwed down every couple of inches.I have my two batteries sitting on top of it. Mine is calked also ,I uncovered it 98 years ago +-, and found water along the edges of the foam insert, Very little had penetrated the foam.

you can email the picture to me,i will take a look.
TT
