Found this one too late
http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/boa/3729230678.html

It was a complete Sakonnet with Mills Bimini with forward shelter and casting platform, no motor asking $2K. obo

They guy who sold it said it went to a local club and it was going to be stripped down and used as a bare tiller driven hull.
... and said he thought they had a friend (and that's who I am hopping finds this post) that has another Whaler and they might be giving him the parts.

I just want this find to get into restoration.
I am working on one now and would like to see if there is anything not being used that needs a home.
Even if its not me.. I cant sleep thinking about this getting thrown out.

I'm living in Milwaukee, so if you get info let me know. Maybe I can help them see the errors of their ways.

Thanks Dave but I am a bit closer than that.
Just Moved from Milwaukee to Pewaukee Lake.
I emailed him asking for the number of the buyer.
Will see... all I can do is try.
Hope to salvage some parts or at least let them know they do have a value.

Found it! ...and am in contact with the commodore of the club.
I hope they will let me at some of the parts they don't need.

Thanks

Why don't you just offer to find them a hull and trade?

That’s a good idea Dave but I am a bit short on funds and this might actually work out good.
I have a 1968 Nauset that I am restoring. It was my fathers and besides the sentimental reasons its hull I know is in good shape and the woodwork mostly restorable. I would like as much of the boat that I grew up with to be intact. This Sakonnet should have parts that I can use to help me complete my restoration and also add some of the Sakonnet options and accessories I always envied. Also, I plan on braking down all my woodwork to restore it and then I would have some vintage wood as a spare if things go south.

Hope it works out.. They think it is all shot and it might be I have not seen it yet.
