A friend has a 16 (17?) older Whaler with the serial number3A2541. Any chance someone might be able to crack the code? I believe the 3 is the 16' Not sure about A, and 2541 may be the actual hull number in the manufacturing sequence. CW reference section helped a little, but I can't pin this down...

Got a reply from Chuck Bennett at BW: ID'd it perfectly as a 1970 Currituck. Great Guy!

The model information is not encoded in the stencil number. You cannot extract the model information from a stencil number. Only Boston Whaler can do that. They look up their production records.
