I need to have a new-to-me 23' Conquest towed fron Venice FL to Massachusetts. I put this on U-ship but the quotes are all over the board. The distance is about 1400 miles.
I was expecting to pay about $1.50 mile($2000), but the quotes are much higher ($3100 - $3400). They just seem really high. For that much money I may have to go get it myself. Does anybody have any recommendations for reliable and reasonably priced haulers for this route ?

How recently did you list on U-Ship? I have found it takes at least a week to get enough bids to get a true picture.

Some folks are in a rush or have to move quickly and will snap at the early bids.

I think your guess at about $2K sounds right.

I just used Mrs. T's Boat Hauling in Edgewater, Florida to haul my new to me 25 Walkaround from Edgewater to Northern Michigan. We were very happy with the service and would not hesitate to use him again. He often hauls for Boston Whaler's Commercial Division.

I towed my 21" Conquest from Jax, FL to Cape Cod, MA myself.

I would never have a boat shipped if I could go get it myself. I shudder to think what could happen to my classic boat if the person pulling it just thought of it as another boat. I recently waited 2 months after actually purchasing a Whaler 27 FC WD to go get it myself, and I would do the same thing again.

Could be the time of year is the problem. If you can wait until fall, I found a lot of people on uShip who were trailering snowbirds' cars southbound and coming back empty.

Contact Dave Fred at Surf and Turf transport, 865-309-6984. I am in a similar situation, need a boat transported from Fl to MD and his price was very reasonable and plus he is highly recommended over on the hull truth.

How fast do you guys need these shipped? I may be in Florida, west coast a couple of hours north of Venice, and may be coming up to New Jersey in the near future. Could undercut Uship, possibly, but expensive either way. 2011 Ford Raptor rated at 6500 pounds, but fuel and tolls aint cheap. Room to safely store temporarily in my yard, SC Exit 8 (HHI) in between trips, or any other way that I can be of assistance. zot.

Oh, yeah, haven't been on the Cape since 2010. Off from FD from Thurs to Halloween minus a week in early September. Let me know. Email is current. zotcha.
