Just listed on Ebay, another edition of my semi-scale 1984 Montauk models. This series of six models have new details including a stainless steel steering wheel, new decals, rod holders in the RPS, and a bow eye. I have also reshaped a portion of the "smirk" in my mold to bring it closer to the original. The first edition of six went quickly, and after the first couple of models sold for just under the "Buy it Now" price of $150, the rest went at or well above it. Here is a link to some photos of this edition: ?action=view¤t=IMG_1476.jpg

Please try for your key chains and such I have found their shipping a lot more reasonable then most of the remarketers on that site.

These models are not re-marketed. So far, they are only available direct from me.

I have one of these Montauk Models that Roy made. They are a work of art. A fine piece of craftsmanship by a fine man.

I received my Montauk a few days ago Roy, she truly is a work of art. The detail is incredible. It looks great in my nautical room along with my 50th anniversary 13'. Once again Roy thanks.

I spent some time over the holidays making another edition of my model. There are twelve in this series and they are the same as the previous edition of six. I have listed one on ebay:

Very cool models, Roy. Just curious, I know you own an Outrage 17 II also, have you though about making model of that hull?

Roy's Montauk model is truely a work of art and looks great next to my 50th Anniversary 13 Sport model from Whaler and my ceramic 13 sport from a dealer. Roy stayed up past midnight the week before Christmas putting one of his new models together in order to get it to me before Christmas as it was to be a gift for my father. Turns out it was really a gift for me!

Thanks again Roy, excellent work and anyone who owns a Montauk should have one of these models. I would also be interested in an Outrage version. Now if I could only find a reasonably priced Danbury Nauset ... Brian

My first inclination was to build a model of my boat, complete with "Ichthus" graphics on the sides. However, the Accutrack hull is not easily modeled without a sectioned drawing. I just can't quite get my head around the geometry well enough to break it into pieces that I can easily make.

The 1984 Montauk was fairly easy, and a classic 16 foot hull, or 13 for that matter, would be even easier. They're both not much more than three "V" shaped elements with a large filet in between. If I do another one, and that's a big if, it will likely be an Outrage. I like the Banana hulls, but it would require a tricky mold set.

I have begun an engine replica model to match my Montauk's scale. It is an Evinrude 85. I'm also looking for an appropriate Merc to model if anyone would like to help by taking some pictures and a few measurements.

By the way, thanks for the kind comments, bkovak. After you told me it was for a Christmas present, I was really hoping it was not going to be for your wife or girlfriend. My models, although well constructed, really don't hold up well for much bouncing! No offense, ladies, I just look at it like getting a pot or a new mop for Christmas. I wish I could say I know this because of my keen insight.

someone is using your name and spamming another boating site with reference to your models on ebay.

I assume/hope it is not you?

email me if you want the link.
