If this topic isn't appropriate here, accept my apologies. The Dicussion Area Rules ( http://continuouswave.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=agree ) seem to indicate it is.

Over the past two years I've purchased a lot of stuff from online vendors including Hamilton Marine, Eastern Marine, and more recently Genuinedealz and Starboard Supply. Each provided me excellent prices and speedy fulfillment of my order. Typically, the items I purchase online are difficult to obtain locally.

With Hamilton Marine and Eastern Marine, I've had excellent experiences when needing after-sale support, such as in making an exchange. With Starboard Supply, I realized too late that customer service is through e-mail only ( they don't publish a phone number anywhere I can find) and I haven't yet been able to get a response to my e-mails. Has anybody else had success receiving after-sale support from this merchant?

Sorry to hear your issues with Starboard Supply. In looking at their privacy policy on the website I did find a phone # 617-365-9004 for discussing issues relating to their privacy policy.

I see they are an LLC with a mailing address of 60 South Street, Shrewsbury, MA. I actually lived in Shrewsbury, MA for a few months in late 2001 and recall the area well (really nice town). Think this address is a mail drop. (no store there I recall, it's residential)

With respect to Hamilton Marine, they are a traditional marine chandlery with stores in Portland, Rockland, Searsport and Southwest Harbor. The Portland store is local to me. They even tolerate people from "away". :)

Following up on my experience with Starboard Supply, after a while they did reply to my e-mails, and I was able to exchange my incorrect item. They were courteous and fair, even refunding my shipping costs for the returned item. I would recommend them to others, with the caveat that returns or exchanges are likely to be a cumbersome undertaking.
