I'm looking to buy a 12 gallon metal gas tank. If anybody wants to change over to plastic, here's your chance. Maybe the spouse is complaining about that one they've been tripping over in the garage.

I'll pay good money for one (or three)

You could look for a fabrication shop in your area and have one or three made to your specs. Some of the crew here have sourced aluminum gas tanks from a shop I believe in Arizona. Check the archives. Maybe it was Buckda

good luck

I have two older Mercury labeled tanks. I assume they are original to my 1979 Montauk. They are in pretty good shape and currently are a tripping hazard. I'm game to dig them out of the garage and snap a few photos over the weekend. I'll be in touch. BTW, I'm in Richmond, VA.

I agree with PeteB88, get a custom alum tank with a float fuel gauge, you can have one built to your specs and measurements, I do not understand why people purchase plastic fuel tanks...good luck

Contender....I have no desire for a plastic tank. I am doing a restoration. I want to use what was in the boat originally. These were rectangular 12 galon metal tanks. two under the seat and two under the console. For this reason, I also do not want to have something fabricated.

Looking to buy another 3 if anybody else has any.

know the ones you are talking about, had two, built in gauge, they were thin steel painted red (some were a light tan color), problem here is they rust, have not seen them for years, there are two marine liquidators here in Florida, one in Dayton Beach (do not know their name) the other in Ft. Pierce Fla. 772 465 6460, Called Marine Liquidators, Also I think the tanks were made by Tempo...good luck

I have 2 in Atlanta. They are complete and have minor surface rust on the bottom and are available for $25.00 for both since they are in the way here. I am in Atlanta and shipping is $40.00 I'm told. I have photos so if you are interested let me know.

I found this site on line for aluminum fuel tanks.
$199.00 for a 18 gallon above deck tank, seems like a good price to me!
