For sale: Yamaha 250 hp / 2 cycle / fuel injected outboard. It is a 2000 model SX250TXRY … OX-66 … SWSII with 300 +/- hrs. (included hour meter shows 290.9, see history below) This engine features Yamaha’s closed loop fuel injection system with an oxygen sensor. The engine package includes most of the rigging hardware necessary for installation including oil tank and wiring, tach and wiring, 10 pin - main engine to switch cable, ignition and tether switch, hour meter, battery cable, an older 704 top mount control, and a 15 ¼ X 15 stainless prop. What I know to be missing for installation is the engine pan cable grommet, oil feed line, fuel line, control cables, and stainless transom mounting bolts. The 704 control is usable but not in the best shape. The engine shows excellent care. Lower unit oil and water pump were changed as part of my purchase arrangement. The cylinder compression range was 108-111 PSI. The engine cover has a minor rub and the back of the mid section, above the exhaust relief, had a dock scrape. Engine was sprayed with CRC anti corrosion. Also included are Yamaha technical manuals for the SX250, on CD. Local pickup location is on the Tennessee River, 15 miles west of Athens, AL. $4,000 Picture zip file available – email ...

Motor history: I purchased a matched set of SX & LX 250’s last November. They were on a 32’ Contender used in the Great Lakes in summer and New River area of SC in winter. Motors were dealer serviced every 50 hrs and were at a dealership in SC when I picked them up. (replaced by 300 HPDI Yamahas) I mounted the SX (right hand rotation) on my Revenge 22 WT / WD thinking I would sell the LX. I ran it for about 10 hrs and after due diligence on the salability of left hand rotation engines, swapped the SX for the LX. I have since changed the my LX lower unit to a RH extended nose lower unit. The SX250 was run with fuel stabilizer, fogged with Yamaha storage oil, and the fuel & oil system drained for storage for extended storage and is now for sale.

I should have added to original post ... the shaft length for the SX250 is 25". As a note, Yamaha uses the following coding in the model number: S=15" ... L=20" ... X=25" ... U=30".

Thanks for the interest.
