I sent off my I/O motor for rebuild, but didn't take off the brace that supports the front motor mount. It spans the stringers and drops down about 1 1/2". The motor came back, without the brace, and the mechanic can't find it. I believe this is a customer piece. As far as I can remember, maybe 2" angle iron. I will have one fabricated if I can't find one. Anyone have one, know where one may be? Left over from a conversion to outboard? Just a shot in the dark.

I would go on some sterdrive forums and even ebay to search out by brand. It sounds like this may be an OMC setup. If it is there was a fixed front mount or an optional select trim mount which for the stringer drive OMC is the only way to adjust the stern drive. It adjusts from the front (port side) of the engine. Depending on whether or not it is a straight six or V8 will depend on what you will search for. You can find this stuff without having to fabricate something.I rebuilt a 1977 Revenge 19 with an OMC 185 HP 302 V8. Enjoy Go onto http://www.sterndrive.com/ to your respective outdrive forum and ask there also. Bret |

This is a Mercruiser 485, from 1981. The MCM front motor mount has an approx 13" footprint. The brace that this mount sat on was about 25" with a 1.5" drop from the top of the stringer. I went to the sterndrive website. Found a Bret Morgan with a 485. Is that you??? If so, do you have the same mount?? I believe the only way to have the same bracket would be if the stringer spacing was the exact same. Not likely for a different make of hull. Let me know if you are the same Bret and would like to sell some parts. I'm looking for some exhaust parts as well. |

Yes that is me. I have sent you an email. You obviously don't have an OMC Stringer Drive, apologies for the confusion, you have a Mercruiser 485 Inboard Outboard in your 22 Foot Boston Whaler Revenge. I didn't realize that, nor the difficulty of sourcing parts. |
