I need to replace the rubrail on my 1978 Outrage. The insert fell out of the track on the last run of the year. I had looked at trying to repair it, but it is junk. THe insert is all scarred up, the track is cracked in several places and quite a few of the fasteners that secure it to the hull have failed. Who carries these replacement parts? How difficult is it to install? I have seen stuff for sale on Ebay, but I want to buy the right stuff for the boat, not cheap junk. Thanks |

Look in the reference section of this forum, under repair/modification, rubrails. There are several good sources for OEM rub rails, plus great installation tips. Good luck with it! |

I don't lnow who leeps buying the rubrails from E-Bay because they are about 75% over MSRP at dealer. Just call your dealer and order one. I know a Montauk is like $125 but the 21 might be close to $300 due to it is longer and wider. |

If you have a sample of your old rail and insert you can probably match it here. There are other sources too. http://www.tacomarine.com/ cat--Rigid-Rub-Rail-with-Flexible-Insert--Rigid_rubrail_flex_insert.html |

Hamilton Marine in Maine has a good selection too. |
