Gentlemen (and Ladies, of course),
I have had the pleasure of doing business with many a member of the CW community, both in supplying parts and advice/opinions. I've had a lot of fun. However, there are some things I want to tell you about Seastar/Baystar systems from Teleflex. There are many different types of helms that they offer, and many different kinds of cylinders, which are the most important aspect as these actually have to fit your motor. A helm will fit any dash. I can get you the cylinder you NEED, as well as the helm you WANT, at a price FAR below what you might see anywhere else. If you have an older OMC, Merc, or Yamaha, I can get you a cylinder for those engines, at far below what else is out there. It will take a little longer because I have to order it. And, yes, it is new, and it has it's full warranty.

As far as helms, let me tell you something. Bigger cubic inches is not always better. The 2.0's and 2.4's have less turns lock-to-lock than the 1.7's and 1.4's. But their steering effort is higher. Myself, who drives a boat several days a week, every week, I'll take the steering effort anyday over the hardover turns. But if you want the higher cu. in. helms, or the Pro series, let me know. I can order these too.

If you would like, I can email you the Seastar and Baystar installation guides. Excellent manuals. I can also give you any advice on a particular installation. I've installed thousands of Teleflex systems, wouldn't use anyone else's, not Uflex (who Merc uses on Verados), not Marcol, nobody but Teleflex. My email is seabob4@earthlink.net, and my phone is 727-819-8872.

Sorry for such a lengthy post, but I wanted you all out there to know what options you have. Thanks for the patience. BTW, I live in Florida, so those on the west coast, plan your calls!

Not to derail SeaBob's thread, but...

contender, if you click on the link at the upper right called "profile" and then log in just as you would to post an article, you can update your email address there.
