I am looking at a 1995 Whaler Outrage with T top and basic electronics. Twin 135hp 2002 Merc Optimax Saltwaters with roughly 300 hours on them. No trailer and they are asking $20k. Whats a truely fair price for this boat? Thanks alot for the advice guys. I appreciate it.

Sorry...the 21 feet part might be helpful.

That boat has been for sale for some time. I believe Jason G (contender25 on this board) looked at it in person. If he has looked at it, he would be a good person to talk to about it.

I have seen 1995 21 Outrages, with a 225 Johnsons sell for close to that number if in nice condition. In this situation I don't think the additional motor adds as much value as it would on a 23 foot boat. There aren't that many people that want to maintain a 21 foot boat with twins. My opinion. I also think that boat is going to be stern heavy and will likely porpoise like crazy without trim tabs. I think those hulls are pretty nice because they are rated for 300hp and have a fair amount of deck space. No euro transom or stern quarter seats. That would be a nice boat with a 300 Optimax on the back.

In the interest of full disclosure I have never been underway on a 1995 21 Outrage. I have spent hundreds of hours on a 1996 24 Outrage and a 1996 20 Outrage.

I think I'd talk them down as much as possible, sell the Opti's and repower with a single Verado or a 250 Yamaha, or a big Opti. 18K-9K for the Opti's + 13K for a 225 Opti and you've got a nice boat with new power for 22K. Basically less than half the price of a new 210 Outrage.

Thanks so much guys for the info. I want to gather as much info as I can so I can make an educated decision/offer. The boat is here in MA down on the cape in Orleans. How might i get in touch with "Conteneder25?" to ask him if he looked at the boat and what he thought? I am looking to spend 25k max on a 20+ footer CC with trailer and electronics. A newer four stoke would be prefered with low hours. If you have any suggestions id love to hear them. Thanks so much.

Thanks a lot. I have written him an e-mail to see if he has some insight into the boat.
