Man, flipped the boat in the surf? How did that happen? Is the T-Top bent?

What is a 1.5 stainless T-Top?

I'm going to guess one and one half inch diameter CRES tubing was used to build the T-top. SCOTCH-please share your story with us.

Its a long story that I hate thinking about it. Basically my boat partner got a little to close to a huge swell while surfing a point break of san diego. The overhead swell broke behind him, so he tried to outrun the wave. Didn't work out that well. The boat ended up flipping at about 30mph. To you surfers out there, he was basicaly going down the line when he couldn't get over the wave. The t-top was bent but getting fixed. All the electronics were taken out, as well as the motor. Also the front hatches are being replaced. The only reason I am selling this boat is because I can't find a deal on a decent motor and I dont want to deal with the headache of fixing up the boat all over again. If I find a deal on a motor, boat is coming off the market and getting ready for albacore/shark season.

Sorry for your loss scotch. That sounds like one hell of a scary ride.

Sorry to dredge up old memories...(as I mercilessly continue...) Did you guys bail out before the flip? I surf too... were there guys in the line-up scrambling!? Too bad you couldn't outrun that one. Good luck.

There was no one in the line-up . The break is a boat in only break where almost no one surfs. The guys on the boat were all ejected, but o.k. I wasn't on the boat, thank god.

Hi Scotch,

Is the boat still available? Are you willing to part with the T-Top? If so, how much?

Was your buddy surfing Ralphs? If so, I can see how it happened and how he thought he could outrun the wave.

I think Ralph's is the only "boat in only" break there. We surfed there when visiting my S-I-L last year.
