Are you looking for advice as to whether a 17' Boston Whaler is right for you, or advice as to the relative values of these 2 boats? If the latter, it would be helpful if you posted detailed information about the 13' Boston Whaler you are considering trading. If the former, then you should provide some information about the type of boating you intend to do with the craft, and where you intend to do this boating.

my whaler is a 1965 sport it has almost all of the
wood including console and one thwart seat all
original and in great condition with lots of varnish i
do have the anchor locker and two other benchseat but
they are pine not as good but they work. The motor is
a 1986 envinrude 30 HP the only thing wrong with this
motor is that there is no choke because the previous
did some type of (MIckey Mousing) however this motor
is one of the best i've ever used it will almost
always start up one or two pulls and if its already
warm it will usaully do it in half of a pull. it has
teleflex safe-t steering system.the only thing it
would need is a new shifter cable. the bottom does
need a little work which will be done soon.

ok thats my boat also has trailer. i am looking to upgrade. but first my story i am 14 i've boated my whole life i live 1000ft from the local marina which is small and i know every one there including the two people who work there they sneak me into different spots for free usually however i just got a mooring so nearly free storage. i could still get this boat but he thinks mine is only worth 1500 i would say at least 2500-3000 i dont know. i will probably always have a whaler my dream job is to be an engineer for BW who knows. there is a 19ft outrage that i might be able to get for 2000-2750 i've only talked to the guy a few times he got it because someone owed him money (he owns a reality business) any ways the boat pretty good condition with nice trailer no motor though all it needs is a motor and some TLC i am just starting a job working on a lobster boat ok thats whats going on

by the way the first section is what i sent to the owner of the 17 ft whaler

You should keep your 13. Save the extra money you would spend on aquiring and operating the 17. You can then use that money towards tuition to get that Engineering degree in a few years.

Keep your grades up! There's plenty of time down the road to goof around with boats. Trust me - I know.

Good Luck,
