I saw this ad on Craigslist in North Jersey and thought a forum reader might be interested (not my boat)

Well the price is right. looks a lot better then other free boats I've seen. If it was near me I'd take a look.

Looks like a fairly complete Katama. I'd haul that boat out in a minute if it were near me.

I went to look at this boat yesterday. The trailer it is 1/2 sitting on is broken in 4 places, the frame is brken in 2 places, and the axel brakets on both sides are rusted off. I'm not convinced it was a Whaler, it had Whaler stickers that were in the wrong place. The inside transom seemed wrong, it had a straight accross transom support not a well. There was a clean out in the floor beside the wiring tunnel which didn't seem right, and foremost either the whole hull was delaminated or it was a splash. There was not 1 place on the boat you could tap that wasn't hollow (soft). Hull was also nearly broken in 2 amid ship from the way the remnats were sitting on what's left of the trailer, and there was a 6 inche depresssion on the bottom in the starboard aft quarter. Also all rails were surface mounted on the gunnels, seemed more like aluminum than stainless. The transom was cut like somebody cut the motor off, all cables were present, but were cut. There were no numbers or capacity plates anywhere on the boat.

On E-Bay, that would be described as 'pristine condition'. Seriously, thanks for saving me the trip to see it.

My kids would love for me to haul that home so they could play with in the backyard. My wife on the otherhand...
