I recently purchased a Montauk that came with a roller trailer. I intend to sell the roller trailer and purchase the recommended trailer style for the Montauk.

I can't seem to find a trailer manufacturer that makes a keel roller bunk trailer. Are there any manufacturers that make this style of trailer without have to customize it?

Thanks in advance

FYI - The member is in Rhode Island.

Load Rite makes one. I have a 2003 model. Check their website. Also check Craigslist for the New England area. They come up occasionally.

Have you considered converting your to bunks and rollers? It could be cheaper in the long run. Have a photo of yours for us to help you?

No need for keel rollers for a 17'. If you insist on having them then they are easily added to any bunk trailer...well most any trailer.

Thanks for the input. BW is fairly adament about the use of keel roller trailers, so I'm going heed on the side of caution.

C B O - I'll get you some pictures in a day or two and see what you recommend. This may be the most prudent approach.

I looked on the Load rite website yesterday and noticed that their bunk trailers didn't come with keel rollers. Should I assume, the addition of the rollers to the beams is a custom add on? I intend to visit the local dealer this weekend to get better handle on it.

Adding rollers to a bunk trailer is a bolt-on that is easy to do.

The rollers with the 'threads' that center the keel are superb...

Buy any decent bunk trailer, spend a few bucks at Boaters World for the widest 'screw thread' keel rollers you can find, and bolt 'em on.

Have you looked at EZ Loader Model EZW 14-18? I have a 82 Montauk on one and love it. Torsion axle supension gear lube hubs. Depending on tire size it is either rated for 2100 lbs or 2300 lbs. I paid $1,595 for one two years ago on Cape Cod. Dave
