Where can I buy/order new nav light red and green plastic lenses for my 17', 87 Newport?
I was also wondering what size cooler fits over the mahonagy 2x4s correctly? What qt. capacity. would work?
I'm trying to bring her back to all original specs.
I'm still pretty new here and really enjoy the website.
I'm looking for a small section of non skid to do some minor repairs on the newport top gunnell area. Any of you "guru's" know where I can purchase a section?
I had a million more questions and most I've found right here on the "WAVE" inside the posts. But I never ran across any pics of the fwd cooler mounting/nonskid patterns etc. Maybe I'm just not finding em' and it's right there in my face.

I'd like to post some pics. Where should I send them? Can I just photobucket them and leave the link?
Thanks again,
"Newbie" Pete

Petyet,

Welcome to CW. Yours are frequnetly asked questions. The search engine works well to find answers quickly:

As Tom said
"Welcome"
You can sometimes find the OEM bow light's on ebay, anything from originals that need work, replating, etc(hard to find) to knockoff replicas.
Using the search function you can find out about making repairs to the non-skid areas of the deck etc. I recall reading one thread that details using puddy or clay to replicate the nonskid, then using it when hardened to make the nonskid pattern on the repair surface when still wet.

Sorry Pete. How did I mangle that so badly?

Also, this is the "For Sale" posting area, not a good place to ask questions You will get many more replies by posting in the appropriate discussion areas such as the Repairs forum for questions about repairs.

Let me know if you might be interested in this cooler which was originally purchased for my OUTRAGE 18 and may be the same size as the one you are loking for. Thanks!

My 1977 Newport came from the factory with the cooler seat option instead of the RPS seat. Also has the rear deck with a ski pylon / or rear seat post with a nice factory cushion that fit around the pylon. Also had the front seat and bracket that bolts to the front hatch area.

I removed and stored all of these options 15 years ago and will sell them one day.

The factory Igloo cooler seat was a 94 qt.
I called Sue at Twin Cities Marine and she sent me a build/ option sheet of my Newport. If anyone would like a copy let me know.

I have been using a 124 qt. marine cooler with a custom made cushion for a seat as it allows for more storage and will allow my border collie more room to ride along.

A fully dressed Newport sans motor was 4100 dollars back then.
As far as I know there was not a forward cooler option, only two low profile seats. I replaced mine with a 54 qt.marine cooler with a cushion. It works pretty good.
