I moved up to an Outrage 22 last year and now it’s time to sell my full transom Outrage 18. Having two Boston Whalers does not make me very popular with the Mrs. The motor was still in the crate when I purchased it last year. It has about 15 hours on it now, and was professionally setup by Lance at Aquarius Marine in San Diego. It runs perfectly.

Here are some details.
-New 1999 Johnson Ocean Pro 150
-New single piece teak gunnels installed in 2007
-New rub rail from Sue at Twin Cities Marine installed in 2007
-Five coats of varnish
-Original running lights work great.
-Ski pole (I have never pulled a skier with the new motor).
-Life jackets
-New fuel lines
-New thru-hull drains installed in 2006
-Four blade stainless steel prop
-Super strong bunk trailer with LED lights and perm registration.
-New Igloo cooler
-New cooler pad
-Boat has 2009 registration stickers.
-I have the pink slips for both the boat and the trailer.

I took these pictures today. http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk129/MattInSanDiego/

I can be reached at whalerguy@cox.net if you have any questions. I live in the Point Loma area of San Diego.

Price: $12,500

Thanks!
Matt

Thanks Dan!

In the interest of full disclosure, thepkg (post above) is a buddy of mine. But it is a sweet boat. :-)

That's gorgeous, I wish it was in Minnesota. Was that 99 motor in storage for 7 years, or what's the deal?

Thanks dscew. I know it sounds crazy, but they guy ordered the motor new in 1999 or 2000. He sold his boat before he took delivery of the motor. Instead of selling the motor, he just stored it for seven years. I made a PDF copy of his Craigs List post. I called Evinrude before I bought the motor and they said the motor should be fine. My mechanic agreed, so I bought it. I paid the guy $4,500.

This beautifully restored Outrage-18 has a wonderful history with this web site, and was owned by my best friend before he sold it to Matt. It is nearly 100% original, with advice and parts that were donated/bought/fabricated by some of our most distinguished members, including Tom Clark, Larry Goltz, Joe Kriz, and me (Rob Schmidt..not that I'm distinguished ;)

I sincerely hope someone here purchases this beauty. Better hurry, Brian (the former owner) is rumbling about buying it back!!!

Matt...how high will she trim up on that bracket? Will it clear enough that if you hit a sandbar it would not smash the engine into the transom?

It gets full tilt, the lower unit comes completely out of the water and easily clears the plane of the hull.

I thought that boat looked familiar. It is first class, and the NOS Johnson looks great!

I just sold her to a very nice guy from Huntington Beach. Thanks to Paul, Dave, Brian, Rob, and everyone else who helped work on this boat over the past 3-4 years. And Jim, thanks for a great Whaler website.

Congrats on selling the 18 Matt. The pictures looked great, I am sure the new owner will have many years of enjoyment with that rare outrage.

Congrats on the sale...I know I am going to be kicking myself for not buying that Outrage myself. I am in San Diego and it would have been an easy purchase for me.

Thanks for the congrats folks. I think my wife is more happy than the new owner with the transaction. Hey Brian, now I know how you felt when you sold her to me. We did a WOT sea trial yesterday afternoon. That is one fast rig. I hope the new owner joins CW so I don’t lose track of that boat.

On Saturday I’m taking the 22 over to Catalina with three college buddies to hunt white sea bass. The $$$’s in my pocket from selling the 18 will make filling up the gas tank a little less painful.

Take Care,
Matt

That fella from Huntington Beach should be arrested for stealing.
