From our 1980 Striper 15. I'm clearing out things I don't have a use for.

1. Motor Guide bow-mount trolling motor. 1980 vintage. Very little use - spent maybe 1 year on boat and remainder off boat in storage. Foot control - I think it was a 24 lb thrust model. We rarely fished from the boat and had no use for it. The motor mount has been on the boat and has slight rust on the mounting screws but otherwise is fine - good paint (always stored inside).

2. Motor trailering bracket. Recent purchase (last 5 years), but never installed (after further review felt it was not needed). Nice bracket with shock absorption and mounts for either a rear roller or a direct trailer mount.

3. Ball hitch - 2". Worked fine, but got new one when I installed a Fulton Swing Tongue (which works great)

4. Steering tube for 1987 Evinrude 70. Good condition. I replaced it with a stainless steel tube when I installed Baystar steering, new bushings and a jackplate a year ago. The original tube has no rust and is perfectly fine - if I'd realized how good a condition it was in I would not have bought a new tube, but you don't know until you pull it and after I pulled it I went ahead and put the new one in. Not sure what all else it will fit. Has nut for each end.

Pictures of the first 3 items can be seen at
http://webpages.charter.net/wildwaterc2.

I don't want to ship items 1-3. I would be willing to ship #4 since it is so small and a more specialized part - you pay shipping (probably $5 or so).

You can email me at russellbailey3@yahoo.com.

I've been a long-time reader of ContinuousWave and would prefer some other participant have a use for these.

Thanks for the generosity!

I am interested in the motor trailering bracket and can pick it up during the week next week.

Will send email on logistics.

Thanks again,
David

If I should make the Lanier Rendevous, how much are you asking for the trolling motor, base and foot pedal? Just curious. Thanks. zotcha.

Reading further, I'd imagine that the steering tube would fit my 1988 OMC 55. Have a safe weekend. Michael.

Duh, did not comprehend the word "FREE". Imagine it will be gone by the 26th. Thanks anyway. zot.

superdave_gv , the trailering bracket is yours. I emailed you also.

The rest is still available.

zotcha, as your second post noted, all of these items are free to someone who can use them. I did use the trolling motor a few times when we first had the boat (I was 11 then) and it moved the 15' well - we just mainly waterskied and swam and thus did not have a use for it. Given the limited space on the boat, we took it off and it has been in storage since then. If you plan to come and want it then I will hold it for you. I'm only about 30-45 minutes south of Lake Lanier.

minitauk85 , I should have added thanks for the invite, but I doubt we will be there. I have two little kids (4.5 and 20 months) and thus have done very little boating since #1 was born. About the only time we've used the boat since then is when we go to the coast for a week.

When #2 gets a little older we hope to get back to lake trips and waterskiing.

Hey Russell, thanks. I'm not sure that I can make the rendevous and hope that someone else can take advantage of this opportunity. If not, I'd love to try this on my 15, and who knows...I'd really love to check out a lake. Thanks. zot.

Guys,

I am heading from ATL to Savannah on Wed. of this week if you want me to transport these goods for you... Let me know and I can pick up the loot tomorrow when I am inside the perimeter (home is in Buford).

BTW, Zot.. I noticed you live in Bluffton. My parents had a summer home there for about 15 years while I was growing up...we would do all of our boating over there. The place was a few blocks from Brighton beach. Great place...loved hanging out on the sandbar.

Thats funny. I built my 'boat' house a few blocks from Brighton Beach on Fisherman Lane. But nowadays, you really can't even use the river/ramp on weekends. I am from Jersey, moved down in 1993, and in 15 years, I think you would be shocked to see the changes. 10 years to go on the fire department and I'm actively looking for places to go when I'm finished.

I should be in Thunderbolt tomorrow working on the 15 and would be glad to meet you for a few brewskis. The trolling motor would simply be a bonus. Thanks. zot.

Zot,

Sorry...but my plans suddenly changed this week and I won't be able to hook up after all. I will definitely be coming back though sometime soon as I have my 19 stored at my folks place on Skidaway island while trying to restore it enough to use. It will be dropped off at the shop this weekend I believe at my buddy's shop for him to hang the motor and to finish all the stuff I don't have time for. Gas is too expensive for me to keep coming down from Atlanta to try to work on it.

I guess I will have to rob a bank or something. :-) Would love to meet up next time I am in town...which might be to pick up the boat. I haven't been to Bluffton in years, and that is a shame the way it has exploded with development. It was nice the way it was...small and quiet. I guess there aren't many places still like that anymore. Good luck in Thunderbolt- have a drink at Tubby's for me and I'll catch up with you next time. I still remember some of the best fishing of my life out in the Calibogue (sp?) sound.

I'd love the trolling motor if it is still avaiable. I'm leaving Wen. for Canada but will be back for the Whaler event. I have never been to one but would like to attend. Thanks for your consideration. Doug
