For your older 13' 15" transom to mount newer teleflex steering to. Also works with 20" transoms and older OMC's that do NOT have a steering tube. Seems like about 1/2 price...not affilated though, just know people are always looking for these.

I decided to put a Teleflex system on my 13' Boston Whaler here in Hawaii...all my local buddies said the ocean was too big for cable I have the Teleflex but find that the transom, a 20 HP new Yamaha 4 stroke don't like each other! I guess this "thingy" is the answer, also wonder how it connects with the Yamaha, so it can tilt, ball and socket? Where to get this stuff is the ??? I saw a whaler on EBay who did it so someone has to know where to get what I need.

This thing just connects to the transom close to the engine. The steering cable goes into it and is attached like it would at the engine(screw the big nut on). Then you attach the engine the same way with the control arm link or whatever it is called. The cable itself rotates so you can tilt it, no need for anything fancy.

starmaker, does the yamaha have a steering tube? The steering will fit, unscrew/disconnect the engine from the transom and slide the engine to the opposite side of the steering cable, now as you slide the engine back to center slide the steering rod in the tube of the engine, need to work/move together to put together...good luck

If you've done what you suggested on a Whaler with a 15" transom I would sure like to see a picture of it.

Jamestown Distributors has what you are looking for.
Part number TEL SA27253 It's pricey but works well on the 15" transom. I have one just like it on a Classic 13. 800-423-0542
