Hi folks,I started out with a 13'-3" as a kid then had a Nauset for about 15 years. I refinished the console. So I love Whalers. I have been boatless for five years and now I just have to have to get a boat even though I live in Arizona.
I found a 2000 BW Outrage "Justice" model for sale. Supposedly made by BW for law enforcement. It was only used by local fire/rescue department in freshwater. Several issues confuse me.
Seller says it is a 17 foot. The BW website only lists a 2000 18 foot Outrage. Is the Justice a truly different model that is not listed on the website? How long is this boat? To me the obvious differences are that it has a nice heavy duty gunwale rub rail, a black hull fender half way up the hull on the aft hull area, nice metal corner guards at the turn of the transom and large diameter side and bow rails. I like all those features. Does anybody know what else is different about a "Justice" model? Is it a lot heavier? HIN is USBWCXB437F900WB.
Engine is a 2000 115 HP Honda with 900 hours. I have only owned 2 strokers in the past but look forward to good gas consumption. Is a 4 cycle with 900 hours considered high hours? I am also confused about the engine serial number. It only says "BZBD" on the plate. I cannot find that serial number on NADA for year 2000 Hondas. Any ideas?
How will it perform with a 115 HP? Builders plate says 150 HP maximum and payload maximum of 1760 lbs. I will usually have four adults in the boat. Do you think it will pull up a skier OK? Topspeed?
Hull has typical dings for an 8 year old boat. Also a galvanized trailer. Nice T-top and dual batteries. No radios, electronics or safety gear are included. Anybody got a guess as to what something a little different like this might be worth?
Thanks in advance for any guidance. Long live Whalers!!
