i bought a 2004 montuck with a 2004 90 hp mercury 2 strock. It currently has a Quicksilver alum prop (2040 P21) and would like to find a used stainless prop. I talked to the local whaler dealer and he recomended a vengence prop in a 21 pitch but did not give me the part number. His prop cost 500.00. Does any one know if a vengence prop 48-16318 21P would be a good fit ,i have found a couple on the internet for around 100.00. seems like a good deal price wise if it would work well on my boat.

Thanks Frazier

The 13-3/4" x 21" Vengeance 48-16319 is a propeller designed for large gearcase motors form 135-300 HP, not the intermediate gearcase Mercury 90 HP. I am surprised your dealer would make such an erroneous recommendation.

Th propeller you want is either the Mercury Laser II in the 13-1/4" x 20" size, #48-16990 or the 13-1/4" x 19" Stiletto Advantage 4.25 (which will perform like a prop with 21 inches of pitch.)

Thanks for the information. I looked the prop (vengence) up on the internet after going to the dealer and that what it said for the hp (135-225) so i was a little confused. Out of the 2 you mentioned which would handle over all performance better.

Thanks Frazier
