You knew I couldn't be without a Whaler... I'm looking for a smirked 13 sport hull in decent shape - but perhaps needs new wood or serious wood refinishing/rebuilding. Modest budget: around $2,500 - $3000...

Should be able to get something newer for that budget.

You're probably right, and I'd like something a bit newer if I can find it. I'm not into re-gelcoating at all. Some minor patching - yes. My forte' is copying and re-creating the interior wood. I wouldn't be doing it to re-sell, however, I have a fondness for the classic 13's and I've sold my 130...

I have a 1969 13' that is in need of a redo on interior wood. Interior fiberglass is in good condition. Exterior has a few places that were poorly patched yet easily fixed. I am in Denver. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. I am selling for $1500. The motor runs well and with no problems.

Take a look at Milwaukee craigslist. I just purchased a sourpuss from the gentleman with three for sale. He has another 13....price is in the range, boat may be a little rough. Nice guy! He is in Burlington.

Just saw the boats in Burlington today. Bought the 1973 13 sport. Rough, but not terrible; 30 Evinrude is much newer and in nice shape; trailer is a basket case... I had actually decided to negotiate on the other one - only to find out you got there first. Congrats! I've got a good winter project on my hands now...
Know of any soource nearby for ype wood? I'm afraid mahogany is gonna be too pricey since I last bought it in 1999.... Also gonna need a remedy for some fairly prevalent spider cracking throughout the interior. Ideas? (Yes, Jim - I know: move to "repairs") ....

Sorry for getting there first....(took an 8 hour ride to do it.) Well worth the trip as the boat has cleaned up fairly well. Glad you found one close as the seller is a pretty good guy. Anyone interested in the 15 should take a look too....agree?
I have a mahogany source if you would like me to check on pricing for you I will.
Have fun this winter!......

The 15 is really nice - I think he's asking 6500, and it's an 81. In 2000 I paid $5,600 for a 15 CC with the same engine in great shape, so I think he's a bit overpriced...
The 13 I bought has more spider lines than my great-grandma..., but still a pretty good deal at $2,500, considering it's got a '93 Evinrude 30 on it...
I'll keep in touch if I need a source for mahogany... I was thinking of trying Ipe if I could find it...
