I have decided to sell my 1986 15' Striper and get something larger.

The boat has the original 1985 70 hp Johnson which is in excellent condition. Also includes the original Shore Lander trailer.

Here are the updates that have been done:
- NEW VRO pump (the old one was still good but I wanted it like new). New hoses on engine, new carb kits, SS 17" propeller
- Wood stripped and varnished (except board on starboard side which is still in excellent condition after 22 years since it has been stored indoors since new)
- Trailer painted, new LED lights, coupler, chains, tires, wheels, bearings, spare, roller
- Keelguard
- Drain tubes replaced
- New VHF radio
- Installed quick release mount for the trolling motor
- I removed the helm cooler seat and rear pedestal seat and installed a Wise swingback bench seat. The original cooler seat and rear pedestal seat are included. The cushions on the original seats are in excellent condition! I installed a new cooler seat forward as you see in the pictures.

The original gelcoat still shines like new due to being stored indoors for the past 22 years. This boat has never seen saltwater. It does have a few nicks and scratches on the bottom as you would expect for this age but they are all minor - just trying to be as accurate as possible.

Boat is located in central Kentucky. Contact me to discuss: mikei at roadrunner dot com.

$8,900

Sweet 15 Propellerhead. Good luck with your next endeavor. Could you possibly measure the top surface of the console, steering wheel and seat heights for a conversion I am working on. Would be a great reference point. Thanks. zotcha.

zotcha,

If you would e-mail me and specify exactly what you would like me to measure, I would be glad to do so. My e-mail address is in my original post.

very nice 15. did you have the seat made custom?
Propeller Head posted 08-22-2008 07:57 AM ET (US)     Profile for Propeller Head
Key,

The seat is a Wise Swingback seat and I had the local welding shop lower the height by 4". I think it is the perfect seat for the 15 as you can store the gas tank (12 gal) and battery under the seat. It seats 2 comfortably, can be used as a leaning post when fishing out the back, or you can lounge/fish facing the stern of the boat.

Yes, the trolling motor, battery, and all original seats are included. The boat is in excellent condition and will not disappoint.

wow, that really gives me some ideas for my Striper. I don't like the seat configuration, nor the fact that the fuel tank and battery take up every bit of usable space behind the seats. I like your configuration alot better, clean and space-efficient.

Can you explain the three batteries when fishing and two the rest of the time? I assume the front (3rd) battery powers the bow trolling motor. What is the wiring configuration of the other two?

Propeller Head posted 06-08-2009 08:22 PM ET (US)     Profile for Propeller Head
I only have 2 batteries. One for the engine which is under the seat and the battery for the trolling motor in front when in use. The battery box in the back houses the oil tank. I actually got that idea from this forum and really like it.

69boo307: thanks for the kudos. I agree that this seat configuration is a great setup. I spent a lot of time planning it and it has worked well for us. It is also VERY comfortable for driving and fishing.

I would like to put in a plug for the Striper 15. This is one fine boat and Propellerhead's is one of the best examples that I have ever seen. You won't regret buying this boat. I bought mine back in in 1992 and I have had many many years of enjoyment out of it. I recently purchased a 17' Outrage but guess what, I kept my Striper because I like it so much.

Go for it!

Come and take a look...I do not believe you will find a classic 15 in this condition anywhere else.
