My wife finally pushed me over to the "dark side." I've been all but forced to get a bowrider and sell the Whaler. :(
I was hoping to keep this boat for my kids to enjoy...but we don't have any. I then realized that it will be about 10 years until I have kids old enough to enjoy this boat...so I might as well let someone else's kids get a shot.
I don't need to emphasize here how awesome Boston Whalers are (since we're all enthusiasts)...particularly the 11-13-15 Sport models.
So, without further adieu:
I have my beautiful 13' Boston Whaler Sport up for sale. It is a like-new condition, actually better than new (in my opinion), 1985 model year. I (my family) am the second owner, and have owned it since 1987.
The boat was completed restored from the bare hull up in April 2006. I have over $7200 in receipts from the restoration. You will be very impressed with the better-than-newness of this boat. Every piece of metal that was attached to the boat during the restoration is stainless steel. Well, except the original Whaler lifting eyes (brass).
Every single time the boat was used it was completely rinsed, flushed, WD-40'd, and covered (after drying). You won't find a better maintained boat. Just ask my wife...she can attest to my perhaps overzealous boat care.
The engine is a 2005 Yamaha 4-stroke 40HP with lots of warantee remaining. The engine has only about 60 hours of use. Its basically a brand new engine. It even has power trim & tilt! This motor boogies --- the boat will run almost 40 mph (with a light load)! Even better, it sips fuel at about 1 gph on average (something my "new" bowrider will never achieve).
The hull is fantastic. Almost no signs of age or use. Not even many of those famous Whaler spider cracks. The boat also comes with a custom-fit Sunbrella cover, tan colored. This is the best boat cover money can buy. The cover alone is worth $400.
The interior components are better than new. The original wood components were past their usable life, so I replaced them all with custom cut Starboard components made to the original specs. All components were cut by a master woodworker. This boat looks sharp!
The boat is on my boatlift in my backyard. Ready for test rides on demand.
Please note --- I do not have a trailer for this boat. I can probably use the bowrider trailer for delivery if needed. I will deliver any reasonable distance for fuel/toll costs only (01' Toyota Tacoma).
I am setting the asking price at $7000. That doesn't even cover my costs of the restoration. The engine alone is almost worth the asking price, MSRP on this engine new is over $6000.
Please don't hestitate to call me, anytime. I'd love to have an excuse to chat about this awesome boat, or maybe even take it out for a test ride.

Thanks for looking,

Actually, I just checked. The engine has only been used 46 hours since new. Also, I wanted to mention that I did the Yamaha recommended break-in schedule and servicing at 10 hours.

Boat looks great, too bad you have to sell...What brand/model number and dimensions is that fuel tank??
Need to install one of those on my boat.
Thanks, good luck with your sale...shouldn't take too long

The tank is a Tempo low profile 12 gallon tank. I special ordered it through West Marine. It was kind of pricy though, well over $100. I wanted to maximize the fuel capacity without cutting into my usable space.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Another thing to add to this listing.
I looked up the warantee info. The motor has a Yamaha factor warantee through March 2011.

correction to my most recent post.
"factor" should be "factory"

Nice boat!!! Sorry to hear it has to go. I am refurbishing one right now with the same engine. What size prop is that?
