I am looking at a 1991 19' Outrage on Boat Trader that has a T-Top. My question is this; Is it a good idea to have a T-Top on a boat that is 18'6"?

I think it's okay on the boat you're looking at. The 1991 has the taller console. Personally, I don't like the way they look on pre 1991.

The consensus is a T-Top is okay if it is attached to the floor and the console.

You may want to consider adding trim tabs to help with lateral trim.

I had a T-Top on my Dauntless 18'. Looked good. It's in the way for my type of fishing. It's for sale if interested.

The boat will list is a side wind. Better put trim tabs on to control this.

I have a Guardian 22 I/O with a 6'x7' CPD Heavy duty T-top. It will list to one side when cruising in a 15 knot side wind. I remember reading something from CPD that suggested boats smaller than 25 feet should have trim tabs to control this. There were right. My boat is for sale if any one is interested.

I had no trouble in cross winds on my 18' Whaler.

No problems encountered on my mid eighties 18 Outrage, has a T top, curtains, trim tabs, nice in the rain and doesn't get in the way like a Bimini.

I have a 22' Outrage with a rather large t-top. I would not say that I have "trouble" with cross winds. In a cross wind, I do experience a certain amount of roll, due to the wind. I would not characterize it as "trouble". I would say that leaning is slightly uncomfortable, due to the wind.

However, I have trim tabs. I can counteract the wind if I so choose. I would say that although not an absolute necessity, trim tabs sure are nice to have when you need them.
