I am a 3rd owner of a 1966 17" Sakonnet. Last year it was restored to showroom condition (hull, mahogony and all stainless trim). It has only been used in fresh water and is stored indoors at all times except when being used. It is completely original in all aspects. The fishing platform is removed but can be re-installed if desired.
Current power is a 1977 Mercury 50 hp which is totally reliable (and economical; the engine starts on the first turn of the key every time.
I have owned the boat since 1996. It draws a crowd everytime it goes into the water.
The original bunk trailer has been sand blasted and refinished.
The boat will is going to be sold and I will entertain all reasonable offers. Photographs will be provided upon request. Please contact me by email if you have interest -serious inquiries only.

Can you post s few pictures here?
I own a a 1966 Sakonnet not in anywhere near the condition you describe and it would be a kick to see a really pristine example without feigning interest in buying the boat.
