I have bought a complete Bow and Stern Outrage 21 73-78 ORIGINAL railings from this unit.
http://img522.imageshack.us/my.php?image=whaler3dz2.png
My need being for a 19' did not account for drilling to the cap AND hull wooden sections for installation.
I have decided to sell this complete set., fittings and all.
I can sell the Bow and Stern sets separately or both together.
Bow set,$400.US

Stern set $300.US
Both for $600.US
Or trade for my needs for my Outrage 19'4" 75 Refit.

Matt,

Good to hear from you.
Yes,
The rails are still available.
It is obvious that I've been in no hurry to see them go.
After all these original parts are not to be made available anymore.
Call me.

That 21 looks like a really nice original boat. I can't believe someone would have sold those rails off it. What a mistake to de-rig a nice classic like that, further decreasing it's classic value. Some people just don't seem to know when they have something really nice and valuable, and then proceed to overly customize it.

Really nice Larry? Small low res images hide A LOT of sins. There looks to be a large brownish area of an epoxy repair area on the keel and there is something weird with the gelcoat under the bow. I would say it would be a pretty fair boat but not really nice. While someone could look at as devaluing a boat, it is also an opportunity for someone else to reinstall missing OEM hardware. That is the ebb and flow of life.

Serge, good luck with the sale !
I am currently involved with alittle stern rail project myself, looks like all the base fittings go to the chrome shop as CMI told me the molds they have developed a crack and replacements are no longer available. The weather here will provide me with a window of opportunity tomorrow so all is well. The Tee fittings will also be replaced as Sue at Twin Cities took good care of me yesterday.
The classic your rails suffered a great loss !

Ritzy:

I about went crazy looking for the bow rail for my '73 Outrage 19. I finally located one by contacting:

Joe Orlando
Kemah, Texas
(281) 334-2902

Joe specializes in work on Whalers and one of things he does is a lot of conversions of the '73-78 Outrage 19's into Lo Pro-style flats boats. In the process, he has accumulated some bow rails and other parts relating to the caps on these boats.

Good luck.

Tony

Well indeed,
The story on this one is not clear.
The boat may have been in a mishap and had to be parted with it's components.
I mean really;
What is the point in being indignant about a case with unknown factors like this one.
The fact that these practically pristine railings came from this unit should be a positive head's up for some faithful restorer that is after the genuine item here...
And I am sure that you will agree with us here on this one Larry.
Good to see that your sense of observation is as keen as ever Jeff...Kudos.
Jim;
I thought that I had the fitted item for My Girl;
Only to realize that they were a bit oversize for my 19 Classic.
I was impressed to see how good a shape that hey were in upon getting them home.
I have them at the ready for the conscientious restorer that has just the right item in mind...
I know that I've gotten Larry's ear just now and that I know that it is a perfect opportunity to pass it on to the parties in need.
Chi;
Good to see you again.
I will be stating with a new thread about this specific topic presently.
Stay tuned.
Many Thanks To All Of You My Friends.

Congratulations to Matt for adopting the complete set of railings.
May they bring luck to your 21 Outrage and facilitate your refit.

Serge.
