Well...I just bought the seat. It should make a nice addition to the back of my 19 Outrage, I could handle up to 65" wide, so this should be fine and provide some nice seating for family and friends.

skred..thanks for bringing this seat to my attention.

Raaay, Glad CW'ers made some great buys here. Ironic that I looked for a seat for my former '92 Montauk for over a year, and never found a deal like this...

The seller of this seat gave me a price of $225 to ship the seat...this seems VERY high. The seat before packaging reportedly weighs 45 pounds and is 60' X 18" x 15".

The seller has been very poor at comunicating with me, as a result, I am not even sure who he got the shipping charges from, or how he will be packaging the seat for shipment.

Does anybody have any imput of shipping costs or if there is a less costly way to ship??

Also, the seller stated that the seat is original Boston Whaler, but now I am not sure....should this seat have the Boston Whaler embossed on the seat back or should it just be plain??

Raaaaay,

You heard from Dennis? I haven't. Anyway I would ship it GreyHound Express. Yes the bus company. Their prices for large items like this would be far less than the big three would charge. Get first class and insure it. With that it should be able to be shipped for under $100.

Jeff...yes I heard from Dennis last Friday but only after I had to send him several emails asking him what was going on.

Based on his poor communication and his very high shipping quote I may not go through with the purchase of the seat. I am also worried that if he doesnt properly package the seat, it could easily get damaged in shipping.

I emailed the seller and told him that shipping charges were out of line, I will see if he gets back to me.
