I am selling my 1975 Boston Whaler Sakonett Project (16'7")on a Highlander single axle galvanized bunk trailer, with a late 80's early 90's Evinrude 70 horsepower motor. This is a project boat that has been 70% completed but needs to be finished and assembled. I purchased the hull in middle georgia, it had been sitting on a trailer out of the water for several years. The hull had several layers of bottom paint that I stripped, the bottom paint had damaged the gelcoat to a point it was not feasible to stay with the gelcoat, so I repaired those areas using the West System and oppted to repaint the exterior of the boat with PPG Concept. The exterior of the boat is finished, the interior of the boat still needs to done, either wet sanded or painted it is not in bad shape, it has some spider cracks, a couple of dings but mostly just some overspray. The previous owner disassembled and removed the original mahogany center console and pilot seat from the boat. They were delaminating on the bottom, I have them and they are included in the sale along with the original helm, steering wheel, and morse contols. I purchased a used fiberglass console to put in the boat and have started repairing it. The console still needs to be finished, painted and the teak refinished. I also purchased a later model reversible pilot seat with the z-legs to put in this boat, it needs a new plywood seat and to be recovered. Also included in the sale is a late 80's early 90's evinrude 70 hp motor with binnacle mount controls, it has good compression and runs well. The cowl was damaged so I sanded it down to repaint it and have not repainted it yet. The original bow and side rails and stanchions are included in the sale, as is all the original hardware that was removed from the boat.
I would love to keep it and finish it but, I have a 9 month old and am getting a new offshore rig so space in my shop and extra time are hard to come by now. if you have any questions let me know. The boat is in Atlanta, Ga.

Things that will need to purchased to complete this project are :
-New rubrail
-Decals
-Helm(the old helm is included but is questionable)
-Guages for the engine
-Various wiring and battery

This is an email from Chuck Bennet at Boston Whaler. The original hull stamp is intact so I sent him an email requesting some info on my boat boat, below is his response:"According to Whaler's records, this boat was built in our old Rockland, MA
factory as a 16'7" Sakonnet model and was originally shipped out to a
Seward's Point Marina in Grasonville, MD on 10/9/74 (as a 1975 model)."

My asking Price is $3500 for everything. Please feel free to make an offer.
Thanks,
Frank
