There's a nice original looking Menemsha on Minneapolis craigs and ebay, it's almost in my back yard. I emailed the guy, he's going to have it at his business next week. No affiliation, but if there's interest here, I could scope out for someone. Looks clean.

For more details, this boat is also listed on Ebay with pics. Real nice looking Menemsha, it appears to have all the original parts, from what I can tell from the photos, although there are no photos of the interior. It is listed for $7895.00 "buy it now" price. Looks like the owner added a spotlight and a new rubrail, as well as bottom paint. -k

Jamesmysmcp,Did this boat in New York get sold?
I had NO luck at all contacting this seller.

That one in NY is still available. The seller is a friend of mine. I am surprised it is up for sale. He was going to take it around Manhattan with us.

Can you pass the word to your buddy that the guy who sent him a note today (me) is a serious enthusiast with a serious interest? (and is local to him).

Hi Kurt, thanks: We're talking. I'll go and see the boat after this snowstorm moves thru. It looks like a nice boat. Dunno about the Force outboard, but maybe the 55 can go back on... ;-)
BTW, the email address for your profile here is not working. Tried to email you before putting up the note on the forum here.

We've discussed, and he has the original seats for restoration, etc... very cool.
I need another boat like a hole in the head, but a never bottom-painted Menemsha is really tempting. If I buy it, I'll toss the Force engine, put a Bearcat back on, and use it as a restoration "Sunday Hobby-Picnic Boat".
There's a guy in CA that sells totally rebuilt Bearcats for under $3000, so what's there not to like? They are still a great engine, sip fuel, are nearly silent, and lightweight.
Tell me that a nice Menemsha with a restored Bearcat would not be an interesting boat to see running?

It would still be ugly :)
PS better get SeaTow or carry a kicker.

"PS better get SeaTow or carry a kicker."
I don't think I'd have a Menemsha for my only 17 foot Whaler, but for early spring and late fall I think that the weather protection is interesting, and there are some camping-spots that might be fun to go to in the summer in one.

Thanks for the info Dave. I have revised my email address in my profile. I have spent countless hours on a Montauk with a 75 force. It was owned by the fella selling the Menemsha. It was actually very reliable and we put hundreds of hours on that thing.
