Sold my friend my 1994 Hydra-Sports about 4 years ago and he finally popped the motor. It is rated for 225hp but he was very satisfied with the 175 that was on it due to its light weight(375 vs 450 for the 225). He is in NJ but willing to travel for the right engine. Anyone have a sweet 175-225 lightweight conventional 2 smoke for sale. He can get a new 150 Merc for $7500 but wants more hp(and preferably an OMC or Yamaha). 25" shaft.

Nick, I have not officially put my Yamaha 225's on the market, but have a pair (right and left) that will go up for sale shortly. 1994 Saltwater Series, 450-500 hours. Let me know if a 1994 will work. If so, we can talk turkey.

Last time I was at Lockeman's Jim's motor was on a display stand ready to be rigged or put on a pallet and shipped. The motor looks near perfect thanks to it's freshwater life. I am sure you find the complete documented history of Jim's use and care for it here.

T/A...how much and do you have any pics?
TransAm posted 03-10-2009 11:36 AM ET (US)     Profile for TransAm
$2,500. I'll take some pics tonight. Also, with the deal will come 3-wire engine-to-battery harness and an autographed picture of one of my Trans Am's. For a reasonable additional cost ($150 ea. or $250/both, I have separate 3 1/2" Tach & Speedo gauges (Yamaha premium) with corresponding wiring. I'll shoot you an e-mail with pics and history of the motor(s).

Sounds great...I will forward the e-mail to him. He lives in South Jersey so not far...3 hours?

3 hours sounds about right; 4 hours gets me to the city. Ask your buddy if he want's a pic of a black (bandit) 77 SE TA or a 10th Anniversary Edition :-). Let me know if there is a preference/problem in right or left motors or it doesn't matter. I should be home around 5 or so; e-mail to you shortly thereafter.

Nick, you get my e-mail yesterday?

No E-mail yet T/A. He is very interested. Due to the t-top and deep V of this boat, it is mandatory to have a right hand prop so it does not list. He also wants the guage and wiring harness but no speedo so $2650.

I have a 1988 225 V^ VRO Johnson in South Jersey that runs good but needs some cosmetic TLC. New water pump, new thermostats, new plugs all controls, VRO tank. $700.00. I replaced it with a repower. Motor is located in Delmont NJ (Barnacle Bills Marine) and is mounted on a shipping bracket. Just an option..

T/A could you send me pictures also. I may be interested in whatever motor is left after Nick's deal. I will be just down the road in the Chapel Hill/Durham NC area over spring break visiting my daughter.

Jeff

Sure Jeff. I talked to Nick's friend earlier today. He's suppose to get back to me later today, so I will give him first crack. He may take both motors. I'll shoot you an e-mail either way. If I don't hear back from him, you can take your pick.
