Personally, I'm all set already having two Igloo 94 Qt Marine coolers, but this is such a great price, there are a lot of owners of smaller whaler's that a 72 Qt would work well on, it's an unbeatable price.

Well I may just need that for the seat a front of my Outrage 19.
Which size would the cooler be for that specific purpose?
I will also need cushion and back rest.

Ritzy:

You want the 94 for the seat in front of the console. Cushions can be purchased either OEM from BW or you can get knock offs from Specialty Marine. I have the Specialty Marine cushions, and I am happy with them, though I know some in the crowd will only want OEM.

The 72qt, with Halls cushion, fits perfectly under a 6" raised RPS.

I have the original on my Nantucket as part of the fishing package at one point, but decided to pull the rod holders, add, the forward lounge and put the cooler at the stern of the boat. That worked out great. But I just got a second cooler from Costco and will put them to either side of the live well. Although, I did not find a cheap pillow replacement for the 72 cooler, the cooler itself is a great price. No cooler will take the place of my forward lounge:))))))anyone got a place for the pillows on the cheap?

Hey Chi,
Thanks for the very good info.
Yes you are right;
I have not obtained the front of the console seat set up yet..
And I will be hunting for the cooler, the backrest and bottom cushion. Also needed will be the anchoring braces to secure said seat.
It seems that the quest for parts will never end..

And Larry,
Thanks again for sharing this photo of your Outrage 25.
I have appreciated the overall impeccable shape of your 25.
As you can tell I have not obtained the front seat set up and was pleased to see the ingenuity of the cooler placement under your RPS.
I am hunting for the raised teak or mahogany spacers for the RPS and also the braces for securing the front cooler seat.
Thank you for all your very good help.
This is what this site is all about for me..

I was in Costco Sunday nd saw the same cooler deal here in Georgia. Almost purchased one even tough I have two 94 qt coolers now. I may still go back and purchase one since the price is so good.

Man a couple years back they had 150qt or so at Sam's for about the same price. Problem was the lids did not seal but still a great deal. Double check the lids on these as well. I bought my 72 at West on sale for $53 and it included a free cushion that I returned at another West store for like $25.

I just bought a 72 qt cooler cushion at Boaters World for $34.99 plain white cushion. They also had embossed ones for $39.99. American flag, Marlin, compass rose and another that I can't remember.

I checked out Boatersworld as I know someone at one of th stores and low and behold, they have cushions for the 72 qt. cooler and others...the 72 was like 59.00 but was not pleated...then you also have to get the screw in snaps and your talking 110.00 total which is what you didnt want to pay at BW I guess...AM I missing soemthing,,,savings of maybe 20 bucks...I have th cooler and will wait on a sale on the cushions:))

Maybe I got back more that $25, whatever it was it was a sweet deal. I also bought my cushion from Halls so i did not need it. It was also before she hiked the prices up, still a great place for OEM cushions. I would like to replace the foam with that real dense stuff but I don't sit on it :)

I picked up mine at the store in Hampton on Monday. The $34.99 was the regular price for the PLAIN white cushion. It did have the screw in snaps included with the cushion. My cooler already had the snaps installed so I don't need them. If you want them, I can put them in an envelope and send to you.

I just bought two of them for my 27 WA and they are great. The large one was a 165 qt. with a small center hatch for $79.99. I thought about it but decided that it was too tall to be able to use as a seat.
Yiddil posted 03-14-2009 12:37 PM ET (US)     Profile for Yiddil  Send Email to Yiddil
Heck! 165 qt~ You could put a dead adult body in one of those LOL

I bought one of those 150s at Sam's a couple of years ago for something like $40. It was the marine one with wooden handles. I've never taken it out of the box. (I already had two 120s, just couldn't pass up the deal) I'll have to check the lid.
I told a buddy of mine about it and he went over there with a utility trailer and bought all they had left.
Yiddil posted 03-15-2009 08:37 PM ET (US)     Profile for Yiddil  Send Email to Yiddil
All they had???? ARe you kidding me? Whats he doing...transporting dead bodies?

I guess I'm thinking small because I can't see one of these or more on a boat smaller then 40 feet!

Then again....1 165 qt cooler on the dock is a nice extra seat where you can keep a few hundred beer cold:))

My local Costco (Boston area) has Igloo 70 quart (not 72 quart) coolers for $39.99. These are the Coolmax series with the cup holders on the lid and no front latch. The funny thing is that these actually have the sticker that says "Marine" on the front, where they should have a sticker that says "Coolmax" (as they do on Igloo's website). Kinda shaddy if you ask me.

I'm I to understand that you guys have been purchasing the Igloo Marine Series 72 quart cooler with the front latch at your Costco?

Anyway, if someone is going there with the intention of using one of these "Coolmax" coolers as a seat -- don't. They are not designed to take a cushion or be used as a sturdy platform for an adult.

I bought one anyway, because I'm a a cooler junky, but I'd be suprised if it can live up to it's Marine Series cousin, despite what the sitcker on the front says.

Same thing this weekend - went to Costco and they had the 70 qt cooler w/o cushion snaps - every other igloo marine cooler I have seen (Boaters World) had the snaps on it. West Marine apparently has them on sale now - http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/244009?&cid=chanintel&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=244009

Well, when I say "all they had" it's not really as bad as it sounds. I think they had about 10 left. He pretty much just sold 'em to his buddies.
I use the big coolers mostly for hunting. You can put a couple of quartered deer in one.

Does anyone know if a 94 Q will fit under a 17'6" Outrage II RPS seat?

Well;
I made my bid for West Marine for the adoption of a 94 Q Cooler.
It is my hope that the very charming Patricia at the customer service DPT will process my order shortly.

There is a Costco across the street from my office. I am not a member (I'm a Sam's Club guy), but I might walk in there to see if they have any of these.

I need a 72 quart to fit under my leaning post, as the 94 wont fit. I have a 94 quart in front of the console. These 94's are pretty cheap here in Texas. Academy has TON'S of them, all the time, for $65. But they don't carry the 72.

West Marine has the 72 in stock, but of course they are sky high.

P.S. All of this talk about the Igloo cushions... I bought an Igloo cushion for my 94, and it is a complete piece of garbage. Snaps don't snap. I asked around, and people here do other things, like glue/screw cushions onto these lids. Other people make custom lids. I haven't done that yet...

Bought one for my budday as a new boat for him purchase. Wass a little different in size of the one that was removed before he got the boat. He loves it.
He has a 23 Sea Ox. Fits perfect.

The lid on that cooler Pam is carrying does not look the Marine Cooler lid. It is too thin. Actually, it looks like the lid on my older style 86Qt cooler.

I think she is finally getting around to replacing the cooler she and Tommy Lee broke on the houseboat at Lake Mead.
