Just spotted this on Milw. Craigslist:

Great deal...looks nice. I don't see too many metal tanks these days.

Yes it looks great... No affiliation, but I watch Craigslist regularly for whalers. This one was well-treated... Price is pretty good, too...

Am I missing something?
Is there a reason some people mount the steering wheel in the flat 'bus' position like that?
It looks like it would be uncomfortable to steer.
The stock original Whaler style 20 degree bezel is just a few dollars more.

Wonder what "pretty firm" means. Kinda like being kinda pregnant?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if this boat was a 72 would it not have a desert tan interior and a full transom eliminating the need for the jack plate?

No. In 72 the 13's had a blue interior, smirked bow, and 15" transom. 73 was the first year for the light / outrage grey extrior and desert tan interior. The 20" transom should have came in 1975.

Got it, thanks.

What could the engine be sold for?

Actually, my 1973 13 has the 20 inch transom... (Not modified)

20" transom came in 73 along with the tan interior.
That engine in a crate new is what he is asking for the package. Used with controls is worth over $3k so hence why I think it is a great deal. I would ask at least a grand more.
